# slice of life
*14:11*
No clue how to set this up so I can watch the chat while I write. Might be for the best. Good afternoon my fellow spiritual fanatics, I'm coming at you from my kitchen, where I'm catching up on all the dishes we've made today.
Later today we'll be going to a cool fundraiser I want to write about, but for now let's get our housework done. We're listening to Gema y Pável, a cuban singer-songwriter duo, and pioneers in the *bolero filin* genre of latin jazz fusion. Enjoy, or mute them, just have a good Saturn day.
Alright we have a camera setup now!
*Bangán*
Gema y Pável
ya no sé qué hacer pa' conectar con el varo...
*money money money money*

The dishes are done. Just writing to do now. Let's take a pause while I move to my office.
*convierte esta nostalgia en una fe de amar...*
*turn this nostalgia into faith in loving...*
alright, this is much comfier on two monitors 😌
There's lots to report from yesterday and all of this week, really.
Let's start with a recipe— surprise interruption from Tani, the foster kitten. She's up for adoption if anyone wants to pick her up.
*Dedicating this song to Kali*
En su vientre nace la claridad
...
Escandaloso perfume,
rito de amor
Oh yi eh oh yi eh
Como lo baila la negra, lo voy a bailar
Maybe I should edit the photos before pasting into the editor
*No hay fronteras, no hay quimersa*
*Sólo el alma libre*
Mayoketchup recipe ready. The cat cam setup is cute but I can't see the screen T-T

I wanted to write about this format, and how I'm looking at this project as it gets off the ground. *note camera-shyness.* Digital scrapbooking, real time multimedia journalism, just journaling for my friends, ...
There's a thread around the difference between producing material, editing it, preparing it for presentation, packaging it up, and externalizing it. I imagine myself producing material for future ~~researchers~~ me to go through and decide what to pick up and develop further. While I'm busy going about my day, doing things, what I can do is take notes, and try to imagine ways it could be entertaining to read them. It's ~~someone else's~~ future me's problem how to actually turn this pile of words into something constructive.
Why publish the generation process too? Thank you for asking, that's just so I can keep myself motivated. It's half a personal newsletter for all my friends and half a motivational mechanism. I know my friends at least are at least tangentially interested in what I'm doing, and they don't need or want to wait until this is a published book to find out what I've been up to. The instant feedback of being able to share what I'm writing with my friends basically as soon as it's written has been helpful during this first week blogging.
I could use all of this that I'm writing for an introduction page later, once I'm ready to publish one.
Something a bit more vulnerable is that this format gives me a bit of safe distance. *Notice how I get stuck thinking after I expose this?* I choose who I share this with, even if it's technically public. I get to edit myself later if I want. I don't need to say something to your face, I can just blog about it first.
Running out of steam...
15 minutes of straight writing wow
Camera off for a bit while I breathe.
Alright friends, it's time to go to the function. Maybe I'll join a creative writing workshop this afternoon?? 👀
Bye!
xoxo

## Mayoketchup dressing
#recipes #dressings
### Ingredients
* Garlic powder
* Mayo
* Ketchup
### Instructions
* Mix ingredients in a container
That's it.
### Notes
I used more mayo than ketchup to get the traditional light pinkish orange color, but really there's not a lot to this one. Careful you don't add too much garlic powder. You could even skip the garlic if you wanted.
#### Step 1

#### Step 2
Add mayo and prepare leftover ketchup packets from the infinite ketchup packet drawer. I wanted to crop this picture. Maybe we'll do it in post-production. 😂

#### Step 3
Ketchup packets sacrificed.

#### Step 4
Ingredients mixed and now beside the home fries we ate them with. There were no leftover fries but we do have a bit of the mayoketchup left in the fridge still.

#awakening #insight
I’m responding to your prompt Mr. Prompt Man.
> What’s awakening about? What’s the insight?
Awakening is about everything. Or rather, it includes not taking the idea of discrete, separable things seriously. Dropping the mind game of enforcing discreteness is one way to describe the insight.
This non-discreteness means that trying to narrow down one discrete, separate thing that awakening is all about stops making sense. Sorry!
You can’t force this insight. You can arrive at it through many different methods, though. Some classics include looking at how things aren’t really fixed units because they change, or how things aren’t really separate because they create each other. Often this is put into practice by doing virtuous deeds — if you’re not separate from the guy down the street, it makes sense to help him out when needed.
One of the most impactful things to stop seeing as a thing is yourself. The less you seem to be a self-object being attacked by bad world-objects or denied good world-objects, the less you experience all the suffering that comes with that. Things can seem lighter, more flexible, and less final.
This reduction in heavy, stuck, personal suffering, which can be described as lightness, flexibility, and openness, is one of the great draws of pursuing awakening. It can empower you to approach life with greater ease and clarity. I sincerely hope that anyone who wants a taste of this ease and clarity can find it, right in their own experience.
*Non-awakening related note, I have hardly eaten or drank water today, so I might come back and discover this makes no sense. YMMV*
